Julian Svitolin

Julian is an outstanding Ukraine tennis player, ranked # 5 in the Ukraine and number 35 ETA ( European Tennis association) under the 14, and top 100 ITF under 18. He started playing on the ATP Tour at the age of 15. Julian Svitolin was a highly ranked player in Europe and played tournaments with Rafael Nadal, Richard Gasquet, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Marcos Baghdatis, Dudi Sela, Gael Monfils, Sergei Stakhovsky ages 14 and under. He obtained a full tennis scholarship at the Juan Carlos Fererro tennis academy and practiced at the academy in Valencia, Spain for 4 years to gain access to advanced tennis training programs. Julian was practicing together with Dinara Safina (former #1 WTA player) and Igor Andreev. He also had significant practice time with Bob Brett at Patrick Mauratoglou tennis academy.

Training activities:

Julian Svitolin has trained under some of the most accomplished coaches in the world like Jose Altur who is currently coach of David Ferrer, Pablo Lozano, who is perhaps the most famous Spanish coach and who has worked with Sara Errani, ranked singles #14 and doubles #1. Julian also trained with Javier Piles, former coach of David Ferrer, the Roland Garros finalist and ranked #3 in ATP tour in 2013.

Training for many long hours every day in order to achieve success as a tennis player taught tremendous work ethics, mental toughness which translated into a self-confident competitor. The discipline and devotion developed an uncanny ability in Julian to win the key points during matches. This difference is what made him a champion. He has learned how to always perform at his best with 100% focus.

Coaching activities:

Julian began full time coaching career in 2003 as a head coach and a hitting partner of his younger sister, Elina Svitolina. Julian worked with Elina for 5 years. Elina was 14 years old at that time and made a tremendous improvement and break through at the age of 15 by winning the Grand Slam, Roland Garros, as well as became a finalist of the Wimbledon in doubles and achieved the #1 ranking in the World under 18. He was also the Head Coach of the Nike Junior Tour of the National Ukrainian team for 3 years.

As a coach, Julian has consistently shown a high degree of dedication to his players’ training. His dedication and support helped the players build confidence in their abilities and potential to push their limits while at the same time, always improving on their technique. This highly personalized approach has proved highly successful with both significant improvement of the technique and harmonious development. Julian’s capacity to mentor, inspire and educate, while always pursuing the highest standards of the sport, is truly what sets him apart.
